Emily Tessmer - Director
Emily Tessmer is the founder of Sierra Spotlight Youth Theater, a youth-centered musical theater company dedicated to inspiring confidence, creativity, and connection through the performing arts. Passionate about making theater accessible, engaging, and transformative for young performers, Emily created Sierra Spotlight Youth Theater to provide children and teens with a supportive environment where they can grow as artists, collaborators, and individuals.
With a deep appreciation for the power of musical theater to build confidence, communication skills, and community, Emily’s vision for Sierra Spotlight Youth Theater extends beyond the stage. She is committed to creating opportunities for youth to explore storytelling, develop performance skills, and discover their unique voices while learning teamwork, discipline, and self-expression.
Under Emily’s leadership, Sierra Spotlight Youth Theater aims to become a vibrant creative home for young performers across the Sierra region, offering high-quality productions, educational experiences, and an inclusive space where every child has the opportunity to shine.
Director Of Choreography - Lynne barth
Inspired by her parents' industry legacy, Lynne Barth has dedicated her life to the world of show business and dance. She launched her professional dancing career at the age of 21 after auditioning in New York City. Her journey led her to vibrant cities, including Los Angeles, where she performed alongside the talented Joanne Worley in the musical "Call Me Madam" at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium.
Having completed a fulfilling dance career, Lynne settled in Northern Nevada, performing at both Harrahs and Harveys in Lake Tahoe..
She continued to work there until the arrival of her two daughters, at which point she embraced a new chapter by transitioning into the wedding industry where she still works currently.
After working as a wedding manager in the hotel industry for quite a few years, Lynne founded eNVy Event Management, a professional wedding and event planning company.
Lynne continues to foster her passion for dance by teaching Musical Theater at Dance Workshop in Minden, NV. She is also thrilled to be part of Sierra Spotlight Youth Theater, collaborating with the talented Emily Tessmer, and looking forward to many days of singing and dancing.
